Our origins are in Gippsland regional Victoria, but we have grown rapidly in recent years. Our services include general practice (GP); nursing; allied health; dental; counselling and psychology; gambling support; alcohol and drug treatment; migrant and refugee settlement services; social connection; carer support services and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in partnership with the NDIA.
What you'll be doing in this role?
As a Family Support Worker you will provide intensive, short term and community education intervention to children and their families in the Latrobe Valley. This program provides direct support to children at risk of developing a mental health illness.
Your work will include:
- Kids connect provides flexible, responsive options for children and young people via three streams.
- Assisting children, young people and their families by assessment and identification of needs; practical assistance and home-based support; linking with other relevant services; and, targeted therapeutic groups.
- Assiting to raise awarness of the Kids Connect Program by delievering community based events.
- Tertiary qualification in in community services, children or family studies, mental health or similar
- A current Victorian Drivers Licence
- A current Working with Children Check (Employee)
- Up to $15,900 tax free income through not-for-profit salary packaging per year
