About the role
The role involves working as part of the Betterway Program in partnership with Anglicare Victoria, which provides a holistic response to Aboriginal Families. The Program involves working holistically with Aboriginal Families under the Safer Together Model, and includes separate practitioners to intervene with Victims and Person’s Using Violence.
This role is responsible for providing timely responses for PUV’s by linking them with services that assist with maintaining positive behavioral change that promotes the safety of women and children to reduce the risk associated with perpetrators' use of Family Violence by providing a holistic responses to address any barriers to engaging in the change process.
About You
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
  • A comprehensive understanding of Family Violence and the implications on individuals, families, and the community
  • A demonstrated understanding of the men's behaviour changes process and the gendered nature of Family Violence
  • Demonstrated commitment to advocating for non-violence, and to living non-violently with the families.
  • Demonstrated understanding of culturally appropriate service responses for Aboriginal clients.
  • Experience in working in the Family Violence sector.
  • Requirement: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Drivers Licenc
