Centrefarm is dedicated to creating positive impact for Aboriginal Landowners in the Northern Territory (NT) by driving commercial and sustainable development of their lands. Our success is deeply rooted in our close working relationships with the Central and Northern Land Councils, which are fundamental to our activities.

Our primary mission is to identify large-scale, commercially viable opportunities on Aboriginal land and develop them into new regional economies.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to oversee and engage in the day-to-day activities of the Ali Curung Work Experience Pilot Project (WEPP). This role is integral to the success of the project, providing leadership and support to ensure its smooth operation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Excellent stakeholder communication abilities, with the ability to build foundations of trust and empathy with colleagues and trainees 
  • Practical experience with various farming systems and crops, including:
    • Irrigation management
    • Operating farm machinery
    • Plot preparation
    • Planting
    • Crop care
    • Harvesting, packing, and logistics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Hands-on experience in project work, including budget reporting
  • A hands-on attitude with strong people skills and cultural sensitivity 
  • Valid Australian driver's license
  • Ochre Card (working with children) and Cert IV highly regarded
  • Ability to perform and supervise manual work

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to WEPP participants
  • Handle administrative tasks for all training activities
  • Ensure a safe work environment for all participants
  • Assist in the development and management of the training farm
  • Work with the Manager to coordinate farming activities with trainers and local organizations
  • Support the Manager in managing the training facility effectively
