It's not often that a chef gets to create magic in the kitchen while being inspired by a view of nature's beauty. At Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort that is what our chefs can expect. With a kitchen that looks out over the LaTrobe Valley, our chefs work alongside the Chef de Partie to create inspiring mouthwatering dishes across our food venues whilst leading the back-of-house members of the Food & Beverage team. The Food & Beverage team works in a fast-paced environment so on your days off we encourage you to take the time to learn/improve your skiing/boarding skills on our beautifully manicured snow slopes. 
 
Nestled only 2.5 hours from the heart of Melbourne, Mt Baw Baw is Melbourne’s closest downhill ski, snowboard, toboggan and snow play resort....'make tracks' this winter for a unique employment opportunity.
 
The key accountabilities are:

• Provide leadership to the F&B team from the back of house, and where required, interact with guests as the Resort Maître de, delivering outstanding customer service.
• Hands-on cooking to create meals at the highest standard, in a cost effective & timely manner.

Maintain quality control in offering to ensure consistency in food and service offering.
 
What amazing skills and experience will score you this role? 

• Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
• 2+ years' experience as a chef in the restaurant industry
• Current Food Handling certificate
• Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
• A LOVE of the outdoors, including the rain, hail, shine and of course…Snow!
• Available to work weekends and school holidays.
• Available from June to 30 September 2024.
• Previous alpine industry experience is advantageous but not necessary.
