Job description

Looking for room for growth? Time to smash the glass ceiling and have fun along the way!

From business topics from retail, food and hospitality to fashion, news and current affairs, our client is a trusted industry advisor focused on creating high-quality content.

They need a writing and editing whizz like you (yes you!) to write daily online features and analyses for their award-winning industry title, well as planning and producing their quarterly print publication.

So, why would you want to hit 'apply'?

  • Hybrid working and a no-late-nights culture.
  • If you're in Sydney you'll work a few days a week in their buzzing Sydney office. If you're in Melbourne you'll work up to 3 days in a schmick co-working space in the CBD, alongside another editorial team member.
  • Inclusivity: their leadership team is more women than men (hell yeah!) and they share respect for all identities.
  • A trusting, collaborative team
  • A flat structure, so there isn't too much red tape and you can easily text or call the CEO. What does this mean for you? Your plans will actually get approved, and you can make at all happen rather than waiting around for a rubber stamp (dream come true?).
You will be part of the Premium team, who create exclusive, in-depth content for their subscribers. Your main focus will be on Australia, but you will also keep on top of industry news around the wider APAC region. In this role, you will report to the Managing Editor – Premium.

What are the must-haves?

You have at least three years of experience working as a news journalist on a business title. You are self-motivated, energetic and brimming with great story ideas about the retail industry and love working in a team. To succeed in this role, you need excellent organisational skills, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
  • Three years of experience working on online content. Print experience is a bonus.
  • An interest in business news and current affairs;
  • Experience using Google docs and WordPress.
This is what your job will look like:
  • Write daily online in-depth features and analyses about the retail industry in a timely, accurate and legally sound manner;
  • Work closely with the design team and Managing Editor to produce the quarterly print magazine, ensure a regular stream of exclusive online content - features, insights, videos and more;
  • Develop relevant contacts within the retail sector and keep abreast of industry developments;
  • Host webinars and industry events;
  • Work with the sales team to support commercial opportunities;
Still with me? Give me a call on 0468 385 638 if you have any questions or email your CV to sidney@creativerecruiters.com.au and we'll go from there!

Please note:

Only those who fit the above criteria will be responded to.

You must have full working rights in Australia.

You must be based in Melbourne OR Sydney.
