Belinda Allen Care is based in New Town Hobart Tasmania. We have been operating for 30 years across Australia working with the owner Belinda Allen as personal care assistants, in her own home, supporting Belinda in her daily life.
If you are a Enrolled Nursing Student or Registered Nursing Student this job will help you to stand out in the crowd for your long-term career. Belinda has been training ENs & RNs in WA, Qld for the past 15 years.
About the Role
We are seeking committedFemale workers only (Due to PTSD and Trauma) with qualities of:
- great English verbal communication and understanding

- Hoisting, High Personal Care
Why Join Us? - Initially, you must complete our onboarding 6-week program paid at $30.34 per hour on a casual basis within a set fortnightly roster.
Rostered Hours
It is essential that you have the ability to work a variety of the following shifts up to 20 hours per week.
- 7am to 1pm
- 9am to 3.30pm
- 3.30-8.30pm
- 8.30pm-10.30pm Inactive Sleepover 7am
If all works well, we will offer you permanent part-time 20 hours per week paid on a set roster.
Your daily duties will include but not be limited to:
- Use of hoist and sling and 2-person standing transfers.
- Pressure Care Management and Documentation.
- Support with Allied Health - Home Program.
- Support with transfer to commode Chair, personal care, showering, and dressing.
- Domestic assistance
- Safely and calmly operating a wheelchair access vehicle and performing safe lockdown of a wheelchair.
- Communication via task list and communication book.
- Support to access the community and allied health appointments.
- Ad Hoc assistance with day-to-day life as needed, shopping, errands etc.
- Working within a team and supporting one another.
About You
Would suit someone studying and wanting real-life experience in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy. Or an experienced High Care disability support worker.
Along with your strong work ethic and previous experience in the Disability field you'll:
- Have a Clear and open drivers license, a calm and confident driver.
- Be well-presented and groomed, have common-sense, high level of decorum, with a mature active attitude to life while still able to be engaging and have fun.
- Committed to the Values of EEO and inclusiveness for People with Disabilities.
- Experience with Quadriplegic Care or MD an advantage.
- Emotional intelligence, initiative, excellent personal presentation, and ability to carry oneself in a professional context.
- A person-centered approach, the ability to support Choice and Control.
- Be flexible and dedicated.
