FIBREGLASS LAMINATOR / PIPE FITTER – FULL TIME
Derek Gee Installations is calling for expressions of interest from suitably qualified tradesman/experienced craftsmen to work on a variety of projects, initially in Western Australia.
Salary Range $71,000 - $75,000
Position Objective:
The preparation and assembly of GRP pipe and application of varying layers of complex laminations to GRP pipe joints.
Key Responsibilities:
• Has sound knowledge of all aspects of materials & procedures of usage including compliance with MSDS & Quality requirements;
• Develop and prepare reinforcement cutting templates and then cut reinforcements while maintaining material traceability
• Prepare GRP substrate by mechanical abrasion in accordance with procedures and specifications
• Decant, measure, and mix chemicals in accordance with procedures and specifications
• Capable of applying complex laminates such as unidirectional reinforcement & Carbon veil Tissue to the required standard;
• Proficient in & can demonstrate correct use of resin rollers and spray equipment;
• Inspects and checks completed works at each stage to ensure correctness of work;
• Undertakes fibreglass repair work in compliance with requests & Quality requirements in conjunction with programming requirements;
• Analyses and resolves work problems associated with the selection and preparation of protective laminates, or assists in solving these problems;
• Estimates requisitions of materials, tools and consumables required for planned daily works;
• Ensures correct use of tools and equipment;
• Understands the QA requirements of the onsite specifications;
Qualifications
Essential:
• Three (3) years of work experience in related field or trade qualification.
• White Card induction
Desirable:
- Relevant courses/qualifications in the Manufacturing area.
- ISO 14692-4 Pipe Fitter Bonder Certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
Essential: Specialisation in Fibreglass work ESSENTIAL
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of fiberglass pipe work
Sound communication skills
Desirable: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Sound knowledge of current occupational health and safety / industrial relations.
Provide leadership and motivation of employees when applicable.
