Who We Are
Australian Passive Fire are industry leaders in passive fire protection, providing services across the Greater Sydney and wider NSW. We provide all aspects of consultation, testing and certification of passive fire systems on both new projects and existing buildings, working for services contractors, builders and facility management teams.
Our team is made up of fully training and specialised staff that have expertise and experience in the design and installation of fire rating wall and ceiling systems. We pride ourselves in our professionalism and attention to detail.
Typical services we install are:
- Penetration sealing and treatment using a variety of materials and systems
- Lagging and wrapping of services and duct work
- Fire and smoke barriers
- Vermiculite fire spray to ductwork and steel members
- Floor blackouts and concrete patching
- Advisory services for system selection and installation
- Site passive fire systems audits and defect reporting
- Fire activated dampers for floors, walls, ceiling and doors
- Intumescent paint and plaster for fire rating of structural members

Who You Are
We are looking to employ an experienced Fibrous Plasterer on a permanent and full-time basis. You will be required to install fire rating wall and ceiling systems. We use a range of plasterboard and fibre cement products to provide two way fire system solutions for residential and commercial construction. You must be able to work in a team to design fire and smoke barriers and to apply fireproofing materials including paints and finishes. You must be able to mix fireproofing paints and materials with plaster, plastic, cement and similar materials. You must be confident in your knowledge of fire rating systems and the applicable criteria in Australia.
You must:
- Have previous experience as a Fibrous Plasterer
- You must be confident with fire proofing materials
- You must be confident in plasterboard layouts and designs
- Have experience working with plaster including mixing, applying and finishing; and plasterboard, including sanding, setting angles and square setting
- Be able to work respectfully with clients
- Be a good team player
- Have strong organisation skills, time management and planning skills
On top of all of this, we are looking for someone who is hardworking and diligent. Please note that this is not an apprenticeship position. We are looking someone who is experienced and confident in their skills.
What We Offer
We are offering a competitive salary of $70,000 - $75,000 p.a. for the right candidate.
