Job description

We are currently seeking a Field Quality Assurance Representative to join our team based in Yatala. Reporting to the Supervisor and working as a full-time member of the surfacing crew, the primary purpose of this role is to ensure that appropriate levels of compliance checks are undertaken to ensure the integrity of the product being sprayed, meets the expectations of the company and client.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Complete daily quality assurance records on site, including verifying areas and ensuring hold points are signed off
  • Completing pavement quality inspections, including documenting, and recording potential defects
  • Sampling aggregate to return to laboratory for conformance testing
  • Obtaining on site bitumen samples
  • Ensure all the required records relating to products produced, paved, or sprayed and lots are documented and collated in the correct format
  • Monitor and report quality performance and issues
  • Ensure compliance with the Colas Qld Integrated Management System as related to the works and carry out audits and inspection of the systems and process
  • Demonstrate support of Colas Qld mission, values and commitment to the highest safety, environment, and quality performance
  • Other duties as required

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current Australian driver’s license
  • White Card
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with all people
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
  • A strong customer focus
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to travel & work away when required

Experience looked favourably upon includes:

  • Previous experience working with asphalt and bituminous products
  • Previous experience working in civil construction
  • Previous experience working in a Field Testing / QA role
