About the OPPORTUNITY

We have a new opportunity for a Finance Manager - Business Partnering to join our finance team based in Adelaide, Melbourne or Sydney.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.

As a Finance Manager in Business Partnering, you will lead a team whose purpose is to work closely with business leaders and our functions to provide strategic financial advice to supports decision-making. In addition, you will analyse financial data and trends in the context of broader business objectives you will also identify opportunities for growth and efficiency and help translate financial insights into actionable strategies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop enterprise Business Partnering capability through the use of industry best practise techniques.
  • Drive performance improvement including partnering with the business and providing key insights for key decision making
  • Optimising return on internal investment and functional costs for the Australia business
  • Provide finance business partner support to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and relevant stakeholders
  • Deliver 5-year Strategic Plan across the corporate cost base, including delivery of narrative to ELT stakeholders.
  • Develop cost base and resourcing strategies, support make/buy decisions, develop and maintain benchmark and functional KPI's to provide insights
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate governance requirements
  • Provide support to the Head of Finance in identifying and developing business improvement initiatives and delivering them across the business

About YOU

You will have:

  • Degree qualification in relevant field and a CA or CPA qualification
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with an ability to take ownership of task and embrace change
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with high level of personal integrity, initiative and motivation
  • Experience leading a group of professional staff to ensure they provide a quality service that meets specified accounting and reporting requirements in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to negotiate with and influence internal and/or external stakeholders in a way which generates business benefit whilst maintaining key relationships
