As part of the Financial Systems Unit, you will contribute to the development and administration of multiple Financial Management Information Systems. The main focus of the position will be administration of the TechnogolyOne ERP, supporting staff in using the systems, troubleshooting system issues and escalating issues as necessary.

  • extensive knowledge of budget and financial management information systems;

  • the capacity to organise, schedule and deliver outputs with a stakeholder focus;
  • the ability to undertake research and exercise initiative in order to implement system and process improvements;
  • a willingness to take on a range of responsibilities and tasks; and
  • completed, or partially completed, relevant tertiary qualifications, for example in business/accounting/finance/computer science or IT (or equivalent experience).

About the opportunity

On a day-to-day basis, the Financial Systems Analyst responsibilities will include:

  • undertaking systems administration functions for the Department’s Financial Management and Budget Information Systems (the Department currently operates TechnologyOne’s Core Enterprise Suite) in order to ensure that Treasury meets its operational objectives, including:
    • ensuring data integrity and security;
    • planning, evaluating, developing and testing system, function and process enhancements;
    • documenting and maintaining systems and procedure manuals, including updates for function and process enhancements;
    • liaising with system suppliers regarding on going support, upgrades, enhancements, and the provision of user training; and
    • providing advice, training and ongoing support to all relevant Departmental staff;
  • undertaking financial management and systems project tasks including researching, designing, and modifying reports and system functions that assist Treasury to meet its planned goals;
  • reviewing, researching, providing advice and recommendations on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of finance processes and systems in order to meet stakeholder requirements; and
  • undertaking any other allocated duties on behalf of the Branch, as required.

About the Branch

This position sits in the Government Finance and Accounting Branch. The primary responsibilities of the Branch are to:

  • develop and communicate financial management policy and practices throughout the public sector;
  • develop and provide advice on whole-of-government superannuation policy and the provision of budgeting and financial management support;
  • maintain the financial records of the Public Account, including financial and statistical reporting and management of Treasury’s departmental and whole-of-government financial activities; and
  • manage State financial assets and borrowing activities.

Hours per fortnight

Up to 73.5 - hours flexible - talk to us about how this could work for you. We are open to considering a range of flexible work options including part-time hours.
