- Service, repair and maintain firefighting and emergency vehicles, specialist equipment such as aerial appliances, pumping systems, foam induction metering systems, OEM cab Chassis and hand-held firefighting equipment.
- Provide technical advice and training to firefighters to ensure the safety of staff and the community.
- Diagnose faults, including electrical for fleet repair and maintenance, including the use of electronic diagnostic equipment.
- High pressure hydraulic road
Crash Rescue equipment maintenance and repair. - Complete the usual bits of paperwork via our easy to use iPads - nothing too crazy, just worksheets, inspection forms and fault reports.
- Possession of trade certification qualifications as an Engineering Tradesperson - Level 1 Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle Stream), and/or skills, knowledge and experience as a tradesperson in heavy motor mechanic environment.
- Skills, knowledge and/or qualifications in similar light vehicle trades will be considered, with the expectation that the applicant would update their certifications if successful.
- Must have a current Medium Rigid (MR) licence (or ability to attain prior to appointment).
- Strong safety focus with the ability to work in a team environment.
- A committed and driven attitude and strong work ethic.
- Exceptional diagnostic & troubleshooting/interpretive skills.
- Participate in an after-hours rostered on-call service for the provision of urgent maintenance/repairs for Fire Appliances/heavy vehicles and equipment.
