Alexon specialises in the maintenance of critical fire prevention, warning, suppression, and protection systems. Our Depot is located at inner-city Port Melbourne, for over 20 years our company has maintained fire protection assets for optimum performance in over 4,000 buildings across Victoria. We take care of fire protection equipment and systems in low- and high-density residential apartments, shopping centres, schools, commercial and industrial buildings encompassing private, corporate and government sectors. We take fire protection seriously and guarantee fire prevention assets under our control are always ready for emergency use.
About the role:
Due to continual growth, we are seeking a Portables service technician to be responsible for:
- Monthly, 6 monthly and annual testing of automatic fire detection and alarm systems
- Portable fire equipment testing
- Hose reel and fire hydrant system testing (unpumped only)
- Reporting via our Uptick system
- Access and egress testing desirable but not essential as training can be provided
- Exit and emergency lighting testing desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
About you:
- Previous Fire Panel Technician experience essential
- Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
- Strong relationship building skills
- Have the capacity to work on a rotating on-call roster
- Uptick experience is highly desirable however not essential
- Current Victorian drivers’ licence
- White card
- Ability to obtain a working with children’s check and VIC police check
- Covid-19 vaccination is essential for the role (min 2 doses)
- VBA registered in unpumped hydrants highly desirable
- Sound knowledge of Australian standards and code
