Established trawling company “Joga Fisheries Pty Ltd, ‘’ working the Northern Australian Prawn fishing grounds seeks fulltime Deckhands and Fishing hands. This company maintains a drug free workplace and employees can be subject to random drug testing which is a condition of employment. Successful candidates MUST have at least 3 years relevant experience that is able to be reference checked for the position. You need to be strong as the position involves heavy lifting, working on a deck, often in heavy seas and sometimes in cramped spaces. You will be away from home up for up to 4 and a half months. Normally there is a short turn around in port before returning to sea. For successful candidates, a salary or percentage of the catch rate as per industry standards will be negotiated according to qualifications, skills, experience, performance in the same or similar occupation.
An annual base salary for full time employees will range start from $63,000 for Deck and Fishing Hands.
