Global Diesel is an independentAutomotive Service Centre based in Granville. We provide amechanical repair workshop for all makes and models with specialisation in FuelInjection & Pump Services.

We are currently seeking a skilledand experienced Fitter-Mechanic to work on a Full-time basis to join ourteam of professionals immediately.

The Role

You will be the responsible for allaspects of diesel mechanic services on site, ensuring the smooth operation,maintenance, and repair of automotive vehicles and equipment.

Your daily responsibilities willinclude but not limited to:

·        Reviewingtechnical drawings and specifications to determine the appropriate materials,methods, and sequences of operations for assembling and repairing automotivecomponents.

·        Assemblingfabricated metal parts into automotive products such as engines, transmissions,chassis components, and other systems according to design specifications.

·        Using precisionmeasuring instruments to check the accuracy, clearance, and fit of fabricatedand assembled metal parts to ensure compliance with quality standards.

·        Setting guides,stops, and controls on machining tools and equipment for various automotiverepair and fabrication tasks, including cutting, shaping, drilling, andgrinding metal components.

·        Using machiningtools and equipment to shape, cut, grind, plane, bore, and drill metal stockand castings to precise tolerances required for automotive applications.

·        Cutting,threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines forautomotive systems such as braking, suspension, and power steering.

·        Creating andpreparing pattern mechanisms to control the operation of textile machines usedin automotive upholstery and interior fabrication processes.

·        Identifying anddiagnosing mechanical faults in automotive machinery and equipment, performingoperational maintenance tasks, and overhauling and repairing mechanical partsand fluid power systems.

·        Assembling andinstalling automotive machinery and equipment on-site as required, ensuringproper alignment, functionality, and safety compliance.

Work Experience and Skills

·    Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably 3years

·    Excellent attention to detail;

·    Able to work efficiently with and withoutsupervision;

·    Well versed in maintenance, cleaning and debrisremoval tasks;

·    Demonstrated ability to work in extreme weatherconditions.
