About Us

At Harvest Moon, we grow crops like no other. Remaining one of the few privately owned fresh produce companies in Australia, we operate in Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. We proudly supply produce to Australian families and are driven by a commitment to fresh food.

Our Forth location sits in the picturesque Forth Valley on Tasmania’s North-West coast and is home to our head office, farm, and primary production facility. Our maintenance department on site is key to ensuring the ongoing reliability and efficiency of our machinery and equipment.

About You

You are a qualified & experienced Maintenance Fitter with a sound knowledge in welding practices and current/previous experience in our industry (preferable but is not essential). You will be part of a dedicated & capable team with the responsibility for day-to-day maintenance activities on our production lines, machinery & equipment to ensure our business operation runs as efficiently and smoothly as possible.

Your key skills, competencies & qualifications include:

  • Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or equivalent.
  • At least 4 years of demonstrated experience in an industrial / production maintenance environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintenance issues.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic or pneumatic systems is desirable.

About the Job

This role requires you to undertake a diverse number of duties, including but not limited to:

  • Maintain and repair production lines, various farm equipment including harvesters and tractors, and other specialised equipment.
  • Assemble mechanical components.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime and disruption to harvesting and production.
  • Assist with off-season maintenance projects as requested.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including details on work performed and parts used.
  • Work collaboratively with the Maintenance team, farm and production personnel, and external contractors.
  • Adhere to all WHS and food safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and product contamination.
  • Complete other reasonable duties as requested by the Maintenance Manager.

Applicants must be eligible to work permanently in Australia with no restriction on hours (e.g., Australian citizen, permanent resident) (essential)

How to apply

To apply for this position, please send a brief cover letter (one page) and your resume to our hiring team. Thank you for your interest in Harvest Moon!
