Our corporate trust business is a leading provider of fiduciary and digital solutions to the banking and financial services industry in Australia and Singapore. It administers securitisation portfolios, investment and debt structures to protect the interests of our clients' investors. Corporate trust supports clients locally and overseas with a unique offering through five key service offerings: Debt Market Services; Managed Fund Services; Perpetual Asia, headquartered in Singapore; Perpetual Digital, and Laminar Capital.

The Fixed Income Middle Office Specialist handles a variety of daily operational trade processing functions and provides support across the trade life cycle. This role will be focused on product support for Laminar Capital. Laminar Capital provides Fixed Income dealing, treasury and advisory services to government organisations, superannuation funds, local councils, ADIs, not-for-profits, wealth managers and sophisticated investors.

About the role

As a Fixed Income Middle Office Specialist at Perpetual Corporate Trust, you will:

Client Service

  • Build effective relationships with clients and dealers
  • Act upon Client instructions within required timeframes (SLAs)
  • Respond to client enquiries relating to various services and financial products
  • Provision of timely information and reports to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Use initiative, work with strict deadlines & perform tasks with high level of accuracy
  • Communicate effectively on issues / problems to Senior Management and ensure a proper and timely follow-up to ensure resolution
  • Appropriate handling of confidential and sensitive information.

Fixed Income Middle Office

  • Monitor Austraclear settlement queue's and ensure all trades settled before cut-off
  • Instruct Austraclear settlements based on trading platform queue's
  • Reconciliation of safe custody reports against bank statement
  • Load rates into internal trading platform
  • Management of security price audit reports
  • Validate trade settlements in trading platform
  • Monitor trading platform queue's and Euroclear trade settlement instructions to Perpetual Custody team
  • Reconcile trade daily instruction files against Euroclear
  • Prepare monthly client statements.

Risk Management

  • Identify risks and determine ways to mitigate them
  • Review and provide input into team Risk Profile
  • Appropriate investigation and escalation of reconciliation, transaction and settlement issues
  • Update procedures in a clear and easy to follow fashion
  • Manage compliance with legal and statutory requirements

About you

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a comparable Middle Office role
  • Demonstrated experience in Middle Office, settlement and reconciliation processes
  • In-depth knowledge of both Austraclear, Euroclear and Bloomberg (essential to be considered for this role)
  • Prior experience in treasury and Fixed Income operations (highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of custody business operations
  • Demonstrated customer service and relationship management skills.
