Fixed Plant Shut Scheduler

Our Tier 1 mining client is searching for a Fixed Plant Shutdown Planner in Far North Queensland and is offering a 12-month contract on a 9-day fortnight schedule doing FIFO from Cairns. Join a dynamic team and the convenience of all meals, flights and accommodation covered.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive shutdown plans for Fixed Plant equipment, ensuring optimal resource utilisation and minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to schedule, coordinate, and execute shutdown activities in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to ensure a safe working environment during shutdowns.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of shutdown activities, identifying and addressing any issues to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Utilise project management tools and software to track and manage shutdown schedules, resources, and costs.
  • Work closely with procurement to ensure timely availability of required materials and resources for shutdown projects.
About You:
  • Proven experience working in fixed shutdown planning within the mining industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Fixed Plant equipment and maintenance processes.
  • Proficient in using project management tools and software for planning and scheduling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on safety and compliance.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
