Since 2006, the business has grown to support the cardboard packaging needs of hundreds of businesses within SA, and has recently expanded internal capacity to produce & deliver cartons to various industries Australia wide.
About the Role
Excel Packaging is seeking a qualified & experienced Flexographic Printer operator. The operator will be joining the production team on a newly commissioned flexo folder gluer line, but also assist with various other converting machinery. The position is a full time role between Monday to Friday on day shift, with possible over-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately setting up and operating various machines in a safe and efficient manner
- Producing plain and printed high-quality flexographic cardboard cartons as per the job sheets, artworks, and drawings.
- Manage a clean, tidy, and safe work area.
- Work with and safely store water based inks, glue, and cleaning chemicals.
- Report any equipment faults/breakdowns, and assist where possible in their resolution.
- Manage systems and process to reduce quality issues from raw material through to finished goods.
- Implement customer-specific quality requirements.
- Investigate and report on any wastage and, or quality issues.
- Following all work, safety and procedural instructions.
About You
- Minimum of 1-2 years flexographic printing experience.
- Experience in cardboard carton manufacturing will be highly regarded
- A technical aptitude, with strong practical skills and knowledge of machinery.
- Ability to move across different machines.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work well as part of a team.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Proficient with mathematical and measurement skills.
- While not required, a forklift license would be desirable
The Offer
The successful applicant will receive a full time salary package commensurate with experience, with a salary of $60,000 - $70,000 including Superannuation, as well the opportunity to join a well-established business, in a supportive family environment with the opportunity to grow and develop.
