We also deploy medical professionals and aircraft in support of defence, government and commercial contracts, and energy and resource sector sites.
The role
We currently have an excellent opportunity for two (2) part-time LAMR Flight Nurses in our Northern Operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- delivering individualised quality clinical care;
- delivering inpatient assessment, clinical management and emergency procedures;
- maintaining CareFlight’s Standard Operating Procedures and clinical treatment protocols;
- coordinating the transition of patients from one mode of transport to the next;
- assisting the medical officer with medical management as appropriate;
- managing physiological issues related to aeromedical transport; and
- maintaining situational awareness throughout the retrieval process to identify safety hazards for the patient and aeromedical crew.
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
- be registered with AHPRA as a registered nurse;
- have a minimum of five (5) years’ post graduate emergency/critical care experience;
- hold current certification in ALS and TNCC or trauma course equivalent;
- Post-graduate qualifications in critical care or emergency nursing.
- be physically comfortable to meet the challenges of aeroMedical Retrieval work;
- possess highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
- have effective consultation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
- have effective time management, problem solving and decision making skills;
- be able to demonstrate the ability/skills to operate in ‘out of hospital’ environments;
- have the ability to function effectively as a team member in a critical environment;
- hold a current driver’s licence; and
- possess a current Working With Children Clearance or ability to obtain.
The following will be highly regarded:
- Previous clinical experience working in paediatrics.
- Previous experience working in the area of indigenous health.
