Flood Restoration Technician/Carpet Cleaner - Permanent Full-Time

Steam it Clean - Carpet Cleaning & Restoration Pty Ltd is a family owned and operated business providing 24/7 restoration service across the North, North West, North East & East Coast of Tasmania. Steam It Clean are leaders in emergency management, providing services in carpet cleaning, water, flood, fire and mould restoration/remediation across all sectors, private, insurance and commercial. They pride themselves on building great relationships with new and current clients and providing excellent service and standards of work.

The position for a Flood Restoration technician is a full-time position working from 8am-4pm Monday to Friday and in addition to this once trained you will go on an on-call and call-out (rotating roster) for evenings and weekends.

What does a typical day to day look like?

  • Liaising with a diverse range of clients
  • Conducting carpet cleaning
  • Performing emergency water extraction
  • Responding to flood, sewerage, mould emergencies to both residential and commercial sites
  • Conducting structural drying
  • Engaging in small scale demolition projects such as plaster removal
  • Undertaking specialised cleaning tasks
  • Usage of specialised equipment (with full comprehensive training)
  • Filling in manual job sheets and taking photos of works to report back

What we require:

  • Construction industry white card
  • Full unrestricted drivers licence
  • Clear police check or ability to obtain
  • WWVP (working with vulnerable people) card or willing to obtain
  • Flexibility and commitment to work outside of business hours for on call
  • Great communication skills, reliability and a strong work ethic
  • Experience in carpet laying, the building industry, remediation works, bond cleaning, carpet cleaning or trade background will be highly regarded
  • Capability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to travel to various job locations in Company vehicle
