Beaumont&Beaumont has been engaged to recruit a number of Freedom of Information Officers at the APS 5 to EL1 level to join an exciting and rewarding team in a major Commonwealth Government Department.
As the successful candidate you will have experience working in an environment that requires high attention to detail. The successful candidate will also have a strong ability to manage competing priorities and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- the ability to interpret and apply the Freedom of Information Act 1982 to decisions on access or amendment requests
- organising, prioritising, monitoring and reporting on work in the context of competing priorities
- communicating confidently and presenting messages in a clear, concise and articulate manner
- supporting and maintaining stakeholder relationships
- applying established criteria and making accurate evidence-based decisions
- researching, analysing and problem-solving
- applying accuracy and attention to detail
- analysing information and data to make decisions and provide recommendations for review or clearance by senior staff
- provide professional advice on FOI to staff and stakeholders
- maintain and file records in accordance with information management processes and security requirements

Prior experience working with the Freedom of Information Act is desirable, however, not mandatory.
Successful candidates may have to undergo a Baseline security clearance. These positions are being offered on a full-time or part-time basis for an initial 6 months with the possibility of extension. Flexible working arrangements can be arranged for the successful candidate.
