About the client:
Our client makes a variety of sandwiches and wraps and delivers them to hospitals, day centres, private hospitals, vending machines, universities and retail cafes.
They are looking for 1x Food Preparation 2IC and 1x Food Production 2ICto be part of their team in Dandenong, VIC.
About the Role:
- Monday to Friday work with rotational Saturday
- Monday starts at 7 am
- Tuesday starts at 8 am
- Wednesday starts at 9 am
- Thursday starts at 8 am
- Friday starts at 9:30 pm
- Saturday starts at 8 am (rotational)
- All shifts for this role will be 7-9 hours per day.
Duties and Responsibilities: Food Preparation 2IC - To supervise and coordinate the activities of the staff involved in preparing food ingredients.
- Supervision of the Food Preparation team
- Complete monitoring of temperature in cold storage and conduct random temperature checks throughout the shift
- Food prep site morning set up and sanitation
- Weighing of ingredients and recording them into computer
- Ensuring food safety and quality standards are maintained
- Calculate ingredients to be prepared for production, topping up ingredients where needed
- Communicating with Purchasing Account Manager for ingredient levels and orders
- Delegating tasks to the Food Prep team, rostering and planning breaks
- Print order and prep sheets by schedule
- Reporting of breakages or maintenance issues to QA/QC
- Strick compliance with HACCP, GMP, and OH&S requirements and implementing them to the team
Duties and Responsibilities: Food Production 2IC - To assist the Production Supervisor and Operations Manager in monitoring the activities of the food production staff, making sure that they profitably deliver maximum quality products.
- Helping the team in the production line by making sandwiches, wraps, salads, etc.
- Assisting the line leader in filling out paperwork, and order sheets
- Preparing the lines to ensure smooth operations throughout the day
- Train staff as required
- Monitor team activities at all times and supervise the correct menu
- Assign the team members into rotation in the line
- They are changing SKUs several times during the shift, so the 2IC must understand the product, and packaging required for each SKU
About you:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a similar role.
- Food handling skills and knowledge level 1 and 2.
- Knowledge of OH&S requirements.
- Can handle paperwork duties.
- Must have experience understanding a production schedule.
- Must know production processes and quality standards.
- Experience operating industrial machinery, including conveyor lines.
- MUST have strong mathematical and literacy skills.
