The Role
Reporting directly to the Site QA Manager, as Food Safety Quality Technician - Hygiene, you will be responsible for the implementation of effective and efficient quality assurance systems with hygiene focus to allow the operation to meet or exceed the levels of Food Safety and quality standards required by our customers and legislation.
This role will also maintain trust and integrity in the products and processes by independently, monitoring and verifying the quality system requirements in accordance with the documented system to ensure that a safe, quality food is produced.
you will also be:
- Implementing site’s Quality Management System and verifying production monitoring activities to ensure the plant always produces a quality safe product.
- Providing input and assistance to Manufacturing, NPD, Maintenance and Warehouse teams, to maintain the process and product quality across the business.
- Overseeing, track and trending and analysing hygiene performance of the site, taking appropriate corrective and preventive action for continuous improvement
- Monitoring the performance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure standards are maintained.
- Assisting with handling of customer complaints and timely response to the customers.
- Conducting Food Safety and quality investigations and root cause analysis
- Undertaking product testing and environmental swabbing to ensure conformance to quality and Food Safety specifications
- Supporting Food Safety and Quality Culture through delivery of training
- Participating in external audits activities
The Person
To be successful in the role you will:
- Have Degree Qualification or Tertiary qualification in Food Science/ Technology or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of within related experience
- Proven cross-functional knowledge of FMCG industry processes and methods.
- Good communication skills to communicate with other departments, team members, external service providers, and management.
- Problem solver, flexible, able to adapt to new ways of working.
- Approachable and strong listening skills.
- High level of self-awareness and willingness to learn from feedback and constructive criticism.
- Able to efficiently prioritise work and timely inform stakeholders on the progress
- Experience in a food manufacturing hygiene process is highly desirable.
