What you’ll be doing in this role 
We are looking for a full time or part time friendly, innovative and motivating Team Leader/ Supervisor to assist lead the team at the Sydney Adventist Hospital in our Food Services department.

Reporting to our dynamic, passionate and supportive Food Services and Nutrition & Dietetics Manager, our Team Leaders include supervision and support of all kitchen staff members both front and back of house duties and generally assisting the Department to deliver a smooth and consistent service to our patients and community.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Work closely with Management, Dietitians, Chefs, Cooks and Kitchen Assistants within the kitchen to provide quality and appetising meals to patients, community and hospital staff (through SanCafe) and Doctors
  • Contribute to a dynamic team through a positive outlook, exceptional communication skills, high energy and motivation and foster a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Lead be example by providing, consistent outstanding customer service to various stakeholders within the San along with vendors and suppliers and actively contributing to a culture of comradery and teamwork along to a culture of continuous quality improvement
  • Lead and drive key projects and focus areas to ensure we meet target dates and deadlines
  • Social media marketing on Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms

Who we are looking for

  • Knowledge, skills and previous experience in supervising or leading staff in the hospitality industry in both back of house
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant or other medium to large hospitality environment
  • Be a positive influencer, self-motivated to providing outstanding leadership & customer service skills by taking a lead and mentor role by training and developing employees 
  • Exceptional communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience considerately & professionally communicating with both internal and external patients and customer groups
  • Ability to train and develop others to achieve overall success and goals
  • Conflict resolution and problem solving skills
  • Great attention to detail to ensure a high standard of work produced
  • Knowledge of food safety and HACCP guidelines and healthcare requirements with excellent awareness of food safety, hygiene, WHS & manual handing standards
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise workload to meet sometimes tight time schedules when required
  • Be an innovative thinker, along with keeping up with industry trends to attract clientele
