About the role
The Patient Food Service Assistant (FSA) is an effective member of the facility team who will work with other staff to undertake a range of food service-related duties. The actions of the catering service team have a direct effect on patient care so we are seeking people focused individuals to deliver expectational service.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Food Safety & Storage - Ensuring compliance with the Downer RAH HACCP Food Safety Plan resulting in ensuring the safety of patient food through HACCP controls and following the SA Food Act and Food Safety Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) standards
- Ensures that all work areas and food preparation utensils are consistently clean, tidy, and well presented
- Preform cleaning & waste removal duties
- Assembly and preparation of basic ingredients as directed
- Ensure all patient meal requirements as per menu management system
- Ensure all meals are plated in an appealing manner

Please note: As a pre-requisite for this role, successful candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical, as well as provide an up-to-date National Police Clearance and Immunisation history.
