About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Forest Operations Coordinator to join the team in Wauchope.

The Forest Operations Coordinator supports operational performance by ensuring the cost-effective, safe and timely planning and implementation of road infrastructure repair works to a standard that meets operational, community access and recreational requirements.

This role is also responsible for supervising in the field, supporting procurement activities as well as contractor engagement and management.

We would love you to have:

  • Knowledge and/or understanding of land management and protection, which may include roading operations
  • Knowledge, skills and experience in the use of technologies and systems relevant to operations
  • Planning skills, including some experience or demonstrated capacity to use GIS
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work, meet standards and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to safety within an operational environment
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience in developing operational plans within the context of multiple priorities and stakeholders and performance reporting
  • Experience in implementing contract requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Great negotiation skills, combined with a strong customer service focus.
  • Capacity and willingness to undertake fire and fuel management duties, firefighting and extensive travel (mainly driving), work extended hours, and to maintain sufficient fitness for the job (e.g. able to efficiently conduct reconnaissance / investigation through difficult terrain and dense vegetation)
