There are currently:-

3 x Level 3 – Forestry Officers full time positions (1 x fixed term contract, 2 x permanent positions)

3 x Level 4 – Forester full time positions (2 x fixed term contracts, 1 x permanent position)

Delivering timber products and services across three business segments – plantations, native forest and sandalwood – the FPC is shaping the industry’s future.

Our key priorities are investing in our softwood plantation estate to ensure the future supply of timber for our housing and construction industry; supporting forest health outcomes in our native forests; the harvest of native sandalwood; and adapting to the challenges of climate change.

About the Role

Forestry Officer Starting Salary $79,156

The Forestry Officer oversees the work programs for all aspects of silvicultural operations. The role also liaises with contractors, customers and the community on the works being carried out in the field. Forestry Officers also participate in fire suppression, prescribed burning, fire training or fire support operations under the Memorandum of Understanding between the FPC and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), and in support of FPC’s fire protection objectives.

Forester Starting Salary $87,712

The Forester develops and supervises contractor’s works programs for forest operations planning, establishment, harvesting and management activities. The Forester also liaises with stakeholders and Statutory Authorities about works being carried out in the field.

To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector it is essential that you are an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the duration of the contract.
