Taurus is a privately owned and operated specialist mining supplier with various clients around Australia.
On behalf of our client we a seeking urgent applications from highly experienced Forklift/Warehouse Operators to assist our clients site on an ongoing basis.
The dry plant is currently running on 8.5 hr shifts on Days & Afternoons, Monday to Friday. However they plan to move to 24 hour operations in the near future which may include Sat and Sun shifts.
This position is based in MT Compass and would suit people living in the southern suburbs of Adelaide (Noarlunga/Hallett Cove) or Victor Harbour & surrounds.
Due to fatigue management we cannot consider anyone who has to travel more than 45 mins each way to site.
You will be based in the dry plant at a quarry. Duties will require you to safely and effectively operate a Forklift. You will be required to load trucks, move large pallets of sand, pack, bag & wrap the pallets and do adhoc labouring duties including repeatedly moving and lifting bags of sand which weigh 25kgs. These are done on a hydraulic lifting pallet but you will still need to have the physical ability to shift and move them when required.
About the Role
To be considered for this position you must be able to demonstrate the following;
- Current High Risk Forklift Licence essential.
- Working at Heights Certificate - desirable
- Ability to move 25kg sand bags.
- Significant experience operating a forklift is required.
- Ability to operate a loader advantageous but not essential.
- Current Drivers licence with own transport is essential due to the location of the site.
- A commitment to your own safety and those who work with you.
- Successful candidates will also be required to pass a pre-employment medical drug & alcohol test and regular onsite D&A testing.

- You will be employed on a casual basis to assist the crew. Potential for ongoing work for the right person.
- The dry plant is currently running on 8.5 hr shifts on Days & Afternoons, Monday to Friday. But this may change to 24hr operations soon.
- Above Award Casual Hourly base pay rates on $34.50 for the for 7.6 hours, 30 min unpaid lunch break plus full penalty rates and 15% night loading will apply where applicable for shifts worked on Afternoons/Nights.
This is not an entry level role.
