An extremely rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Formulating Chemist to join the team, based in the northern Gold Coast region in a full-time permanent capacity.
This role will involve taking product briefs, preparing chemical formulations, creating and testing samples, maintaining the laboratory and staying abreast of rapid advancements within the industry. An extensive background in chemical formulation, a passion for innovation, and the ability to drive development from concept to final product are essential, as well as outstanding interpersonal skills to collaborate with a wide range of different clients and their unique requirements. Responsibilities:
- Documentation:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, quality control, and marketing, to ensure alignment of product development with business objectives.
- Provide technical expertise and support to different departments within the organisation.
- Laboratory Testing:
- Design and optimise formulations for new and existing products.
- Conduct thorough research on raw materials and stay abreast of industry trends to enhance product performance
- Formulation Development:
- Perform analytical testing and evaluations to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve formulation challenges through systematic experimentation.
- Collaboration:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, formulations, and testing results.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, and documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry advancements and proactively identify opportunities for process optimisation and innovation.
- Contribute to the development of new methodologies and technologies to improve formulation processes.
- A degree qualification in Chemistry.
- Outstanding communication skills with an ability to collaborate closely with a client to ensure their needs are met.
- Project management skills with an ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- Proven experience in formulating chemicals, particularly epoxies and composite materials.
- Strong knowledge of raw materials, chemical interactions, and formulation principles.
- Proficient in laboratory techniques, analytical instruments, and data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
