The Role: Formwork Carpenter
Established in 2009, Catalpa Group is fast becoming one of the most well-known and respected Energy, Communications, civil, concrete, and ground works companies in the Energy, construction, and mining industry in Australia.
We're currently looking for Bunbury or Collie based Formwork Carpenter's to join our team.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have relevant trade qualifications and a minimum 3 years' experience in a senior/leading hand Carpenter/Formwork role.
Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
- Construct, erect, install, renovate and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, wallboard and other materials.
- Read and interpret drawings in regard to the following aspects:
- Date and issue of drawing; location.
- Job type, i.e. barrier form or head wall form; dimensional tolerance;
- Type, size and location of steel or other re-enforcement
- Required concrete, cover and strength; strong back details, etc.
- Dig out and mark area for concrete.
- Calculate and order and pour the blinding.
- Order and select timbers and materials, and prepare layouts.
- Cut materials with hand and power tools.
- Assemble or nail cut and shaped parts.
- Erect framework, lay sub flooring and verify trueness of structures.
- Examine and remove parts of existing - structures, do minor preparatory work and install building supports.
- Form, erect, pour and strip the concrete structural elements.
- Adhere to all Catalpa health and safety policies and procedures.
- Present for work in appropriate attire and in fit state to carry out your duties.
Essential skills and attributes:
- Willingness to commit to a 5:2 or 3:1 residential roster
- Experience working in the resource sector
- Wanting to advance in their position and trade
