Fregon Anangu School is an integral part of Kaltjiti, a remote Aboriginal Community on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands. Pitjantjatjara is our students’ first language, and the school supports a 2-way, culturally focussed approach to teaching and learning. Fregon is seeking a passionate educator to work in the preschool of our beautiful Children and Family Centre. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of culturally responsive and play-based pedagogies.

Confident behaviour management in line with trauma informed practices and interpersonal skills, flexibility and a collaborative approach are essential, along with the ability to form effective working relationships with students, families, community and staff. The position requires the successful applicant to have a flexible and community-minded approach to living and working in this remote context.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years framework and its effective integration into lesson planning and delivery.
- Require a willingness to take on new learning and pedagogies to suit a wide range of learners is essential.

Special Requirements:
Successful applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter the APY Lands, as per the local Aboriginal Community Council (APY - Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Executive Board)
To ensure employer compliance of duty of care responsibilities given the unique environment of the APY Lands, a wellness check will be conducted for any teacher nominated for this position and prior to any offer of employment.
