About the role:

Transmax has grown significantly over the last 18 months, and we are not slowing down!

We’re in the next exciting stage of our growth phase which is why we are now recruiting for multiple Front-End Developers.

The role of Front End Developer will see you actively contribute to the development of high-quality, contemporary web-delivered application user interfaces for Transmax’s suite of ITS products and solutions, through participation in product design processes, and being an active and vital member of a Scrum team.

The role also contributes to the maintaining of web application development technologies, languages, practices and frameworks in use at Transmax, ensuring they remain appropriate and sustainable as industry innovates and practices evolve.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Working with their scrum team and product manager to ensure quality of product functionality, suitability, useability and performance.
  • Undertaking software development, maintenance and testing activities as directed by their team leader and senior members of the Product Development group.
  • Implementing complex, web-based user interface applications using industry best practice approaches and technologies.
  • Working with other Front-End Developers to identify and evaluate potential technology and process improvements to improve quality and commercial outcomes.
  • Producing necessary design and technical documentation as part of the activities above.
  • Performing version control of source code and related documentation produced above.
  • Working with system engineers, trainers and technical support personnel to support product rollouts, device commissioning, user training and ongoing user support.
  • Championing Transmax’s software development practices, including coding guidelines, unit testing, code review, documentation, etc.
  • Complying with Transmax’s business systems, policies, procedures and standards related to software engineering and business management.


Requirements

About You:

Coming from a team-focused, outcome driven software-as-a-service environment you will be preferably tertiary-level qualified in Software Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Science; however, your professional experience is what is most important and how your skills can complement our team!

You will display:

  • Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in software development.
  • Expertise in React, Typescript (essential) as well as ideally HTML, CSS, JavaScript,.NET, C#, Python.
  • Experience with containerisation (e.g. Docker) and deployment (e.g. Kubernetes)
  • Experience with several software development life-cycle models.
  • Experience with source code control and CI/CD pipeline technologies.
  • Appreciation of aesthetics, function, design, and related user experience principles.
  • Practical understanding of Scrum roles and practices.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively with limited supervision.
  • Ability to mentor and coach junior team members, if required.
     

Experience with the below would be desirable:

  • Experience with cloud-hosted infrastructure (preferably AWS).
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL (e.g. Elasticsearch) database technologies.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Understanding of internet protocols and service/client-side architectures.
  • Understanding of PKI certificates, content security policies, cross-origin.
