Front End React Web Developer

What you’ll be doing

The objective of the React Developer role is to develop full stack features with a focus on frontend as directed by the Product Owners. Using leading development practices and proven technologies, which will provide additional value to our guests and helps Virgin Australia to be Australia’s favourite airline. The role involves developing solutions on exciting products such as our Virgin Australia and Velocity Frequent Flyer web applications. 

Further responsibilities:

• Ensuring all work is delivered on time and as promised
• Delivering quality code that is robust and scalable
• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code
• Compliance to our agile delivery guidelines and ceremonies
• Take the initiative in suggesting and implementing improvements
• Ensure all activities are managed within established budgets
• Ensure the focus remains on the end customer
• Ensure that strong stakeholder engagement is established and maintained across the squad you will be working on

You’ll be great in this role if you…

• Extensive experience with rich JavaScript web application frameworks, such as React
• Solid understanding of frontend technologies
• Strong skills in core JavaScript and Typescript
• Ability to know the basics, HTML5, CSS3
• React meta frameworks such as Remix, Next.js or RedwoodJS
• Testing tools experience
• Dev / Agile tools experience (Gitlab, Jira, Confluence)
• Expertise designing, developing and implementing high performance web applications
• Good understanding of responsive design, browser compatibility, and accessibility
• Experience working with responsive web designs and mobile web sites
• Ability to work under pressure, with minimal guidance and prioritise the handling of multiple activities at any one time
