We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.What you'd be doing in this roleAs Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.At the moment, this role is focused on
- You'll build efficient and reusable front-end abstractions and systems.
- You'll identify and address performance bottlenecks.
- You'll participate in design and code reviews.
- You'll help identify and communicate standard practices and methodologies for front end engineering.
- You'll collaborate with the team and other engineers outside the team to find issues in the whole product and communicate clear action items.
- You'll create Design Docs to align on high level/architectural solutions before proceeding to implementation
- You'll empowering other engineers which is one of our team's core values.
You're probably a match if
- You are at home working in our core technology environment - our core stack is JavaScript, HTML, CSS - including Backend (Node & Java)
- You have firmly grounded computer science and engineering fundamentals including concurrency, multithreading, data structures, solution design, architecture, and design patterns
- You enjoy working collaboratively with team members and communicating effectively
- You have experience with TypeScript (or other typed languages), React, MobX (or other state management libraries)
- You have the ability to write performant, reusable code for UI components, including appropriate testing
