About this opportunity

SilverChef is looking for a passionate Web Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll play an integral part in our digital journey, collaborating closely with our business team and external partners to create impactful websites and web applications. Your blend of creativity and technical expertise will be key in crafting and refining our online presence.

You thrive in a hands-on role and enjoy working closely with the business in a collaborative manner to enhance our websites, better engage customers and solve business problems using digital technology. You are a natural problem solver, technically experienced and effective at simplifying solutions for non-technical people. Our head office is based in Brisbane, however we are open to considering candidates based in other locations across Australia.

1. Web Development - Development, configuration, maintenance and support of Shopify e-commerce driven websites and utility web-apps. Write well designed, testable, efficient code via software development best practices. Align with agreed standards, patterns and tools.
2. Advisory - Use your web development experience to provide strategic, functional and technical advice relating to web development, digital innovation, technical architecture, industry best practice, and new project initiatives.
3. Stakeholder Consultation – Work closely with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Global Transformation, Business, IT) and external partners to coordinate and deliver web development initiatives.
4. Understand Requirements – Work with the business to understand, document and validate web development requirements. Assist with the development of technical scoping, requirements and test artefacts. Create and maintain software documentation
5. Maintenance and support – Undertake planning, testing, training and support as required

What you’ll need to succeed

Web Development Experience:

• 3+ years of commercial experience, with Shopify experience highly regarded.
• Strong work ethic and urgency in project completion.

Programming knowledge:

• Proficient in OOP PHP, experience with MVC frameworks like Symfony a must.
• Front end tools SAAS, React or Vue and jQuery essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent Documentation skills

Web APIs:

• Experienced in integrating with web APIs.
• Proactive in suggesting improvements for better user experience.

Database management:

• Proficient in MySQL, with PostgreSQL or MSSQL experience.
• Strong organisational skills.

Feature-driven/Test-driven Development:

• Knowledgeable in feature-driven and test-driven development, system integration and deployment.
• Strong team collaboration skills.

• Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
