SalaryWe are a boutique family run quarter horse breeding farm, on 82 acres located 45 minutes south of Perth.
Duties include: stable/stud hand, farm hand, gardening, general maintenance.
The successful applicant must have hands on experience handling horses and be comfortable holding horses for the farrier and vet. Driving a tractor, float and trailer. Grooming, rugging and feeding horses; cleaning paddocks and barn; completing ad hoc general horse maintenance. The position requires experience with yearling prep, handling a stallion, broodmares, foals, weanlings and yearlings.
There will be additional tasks of farm maintenance, such as fence repairs, irrigation, reticulation maintence, gardening and handyman work. Also weekend feeding of horses on a rotational roster.
The successful candidate will be motivated and consistent; have a high degree of care for the tasks they undertake; be flexible and passionate about animal care; have a good work ethic, be reliable, punctual and honest. Someone who has good communication skills; can follow direction; show initiative; work unsupervised, and also work as part of a team. The successful applicant will take pride in a job completed, their appearance and tidy work ethic.
We are looking for someone who is fit, healthy and has proven farm work experience. Available to work approx 40 hours per week (7:30 to 4:00pm) Remuneration is initially $1,200 per week (incl. super).
An initial trial period will be required. The applicant will have a drivers licence and their own vehicle. A police clearance certificate is mandatory.
