Our leading Federal Government client are hiring for a highly capable Web Developer. The successful candidate will work on database management activities, as well as the development of web-based assurance tools, within the Logistics Assurance Branch (LAB). Core tasks include: ensuring the accuracy of applications, providing guidance on ongoing provision, developing logistics management tools, supporting data quality assurance, maintaining training environments, and offering help desk support. This role is an initial 6 months contract opportunity and requires someone with the ability to gain a Baseline Security Clearance - possessing current Australian Citizenship as a requirement.Role Title: Full-Stack Web DeveloperPay: Competitive, Market Rates.Location: Canberra (2600) 3 days per week in office/WFH HybridRole Responsibilities & Key Deliverables:
- Ensure accuracy of applications and reporting data.
- Provide guidance and informed advice on factors affecting ongoing provision of applications.
- Develop logistics management tools.
- Support data quality assurance for logistics management tools.
- Maintain training and development environments for applications.
- Provide a help desk facility for users of software applications and databases.
- Provide reporting on application usage and statistics.
- Work with users and stakeholders to assist with the development and enhancement of existing applications.
- Assist with the development of new applications to address capability or reporting requirements.
- Conduct remediation activities to ensure bug fixes and errors are addressed.
- Conduct periodic reviews of threats and weaknesses in applications, and act to prevent or remediate them.
- Review, analyse, and report on current and future sustainment requirements for software applications, including training and technical support documents.
- Review and report on application software code languages to ensure best business and commercial practice.
- Analyse and report on the application design, build, implementation, and sustainment, ensuring compliance with business practices, policies, and procedures.
- Understanding of the logistics environment.
- Proficiency in developing and running complex SQL queries.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL Server 2015.
- Capacity to develop web and stand-alone applications using specified development languages.
- Competence in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Ability to work unsupervised and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-starter with initiative.
- Ability to conduct intuitive user interface (UI) design assessments and modern user experience (UX) analysis.
- Extensive experience in MSSQL, HTML, and JavaScript.
- Experience with current and older web languages (ASP classic, VueJS, PHP, MySQL, CSS, API, Bootstrap 5, GEOJSON, Highcharts).
- Experience with GIT commands.
- Experience in a logistics-centric environment.
- Working experience with the IDEA software application and interfacing with SQL server databases.
