Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia's leading organisation supporting premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them.

Every year in Australia around 48,000 newborn babies require the help of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN). 27,000 of these babies are premature and up to 1,000 babies lose their fight for life. Our Vision is to provide Better, Healthier Outcomes for all newborns and their families challenged by prematurity and sickness.

The Fundraising Coordinator drives funding support within the broader community. With a focus on building relationships with individuals, small businesses, venues and community groups, the Fundraising Coordinator will inspire and support the community to deliver fundraising activities which will help to expand the reach of Miracle Babies’ NurtureProgram.

The role will nurture relationships with community fundraisers and supporters, support them in the coordination of external community events and activities as needed, provide collateral and tools and will assist in sharing the work of Miracle Babies Foundation with their network to increase success. In addition, with a goal to create long-lasting relationships within the community, the Fundraising Coordinator will help to develop multi-year plans with community fundraisers, expose them to other ways to give and be involved in the work of the Foundation, and will help to develop new funding streams including the Foundation’s Bequest program.

The Fundraising Coordinator will benefit from gaining a breadth of experience across all areas of Fundraising, will utilise strong communication and relationship building skills to create a network of passionate supporters for the Foundation to help accelerate growth, and will develop a strong understanding of the not-for-profit environment along with the skills to navigate and unlock potential within the fundraising landscape. Helping to deliver the vision of ‘better, healthier outcomes for newborns and their families challenged by premaurity and sickness at birth’ this role will inspire the general community, increase engagement, tell the Foundation’s story and communicate its vision to increase support for more families for years to come.

ESSENTIAL:

  • Ability to work outside of normal hours if required by events. 
  • Ability to be adaptable and support and assist all departments in busier, peak periods.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity, displaying warmth, be non-judgmental and able to communicate effectively with empathy.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to follow policy and procedures.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with families, volunteers, hospital staff and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with managers, employees and volunteers within a team environment.
  • Capacity to show initiative, drive, ownership, and professionalism.

This role is a part-time role - 22.5 hours per week - 12-month Maternity Leave Contract.
