Furniture Finisher

Hargreaves Joinery are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Furniture Finisher to join their team in Yarrawonga.

 The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

• Meeting with the customer to discuss finishing and color requirements.
• Disassembling the furniture or wooden item.
• Inspecting the wood for rot and physical damage.
• Repairing broken parts, removing imperfections, and filling in cracks.
• Removing old finishings and excess solvent.
• Sanding and smoothing the item in preparation for finishing.
• Selecting and applying finishing lubricants such as varnish, stains, or shellac.
• Replacing or refurbishing upholstery.
• Inspecting the refurbished product and completing job reports.

 Skills and Abilities:

• 3 years experience in furniture Finisher
• Good communication, planning and organisation skills
• Be good at working on your own initiative and also as part of a Team
• Be able to efficiently manage your own time and the time utilised by others
• Have strong Problem-Solving skills
• Have good initiative and be enterprising in your approach to your work
• Ability to maintain good Public relations
• Have good IT skills, be able to competently use office technology
• Good knowledge and understanding of Environmental, Quality & OHS Management Systems
• Good knowledge of relevant legislative requirements
• Be willing to learn new skills and expand your knowledge as the business requires.
• Ideally have Certificate III in Furniture Finishing

Salary range is $70,000-$85,000pa commensurate with experience
