About the role:
Victoria Police Academy is comprised of 20 hectares of gardens, lawns, and buildings. This role is responsible for maintaining the gardens and lawns and contribute to the planning of horticultural projects.

Your duties will include:
Maintenance of gardens and lawns.
Provide gardening services, including using a variety of pesticides and fertilisers within the established framework, following guidelines and instructions, and solving problems arising with the planting, cultivating, watering and development of gardens and lawn areas.
Proficiency in operating tools, equipment, machinery, including tractors, lawn/ride on mowers and brush cutters, undertaking or organising contractor services.
Liaise with colleagues, customers, and contractors regarding the provision of gardening services.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
A qualification in horticulture or an aptitude for horticultural work and experience in the planning, developing and ongoing care of trees, lawns, seedlings, and flower beds.
A good working knowledge of OHS practices and guidelines with the ability to follow and implement verbal and written instructions within the work area.
A flexible and adaptable work approach with good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in use and upkeep of gardening equipment and machinery.
An understanding of the customer service requirements of the position and a demonstrated record of strong commitment and achievement in meeting customer needs.
A proven record of ethical behaviour and/or a demonstrated commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics and Conduct and the Organisational Values.
Requirements and relevant information:
One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
VPSG2.1.1 commencing salary $56 271p.a. + super + leave loading
Your usual place of Work will be within the Business Services Division, People Development Command located at the Victoria Police Academy, View Mount Road, Glen Waverley.
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes a booster vaccination) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
