Role available at our Byron Bay Store, opening August 18th. Training to commence July 22nd.
Blue Cow Gelato are hiring Gelato Makers for the new Byron Bay Store. This role will report directly to the store manager. The suitable candidate will be efficient, have prior kitchen/chef experience, and always display appropriate hygiene and cleanliness levels.
The gelato-making aspect of the role requires physical strength as we work with regularly lifting 12 litre buckets around the kitchen. The Gelato maker is also expected to undertake FOH tasks as necessary and provide support to FOH team members.
Adequate training will be provided. Training will include 3 weeks of training at the Coffs Harbour store, at the expense of the company. A further one-week training will be provided at the new store with all staff prior to opening.
We require a candidate who can work between 30-40 hours per week. The maker shift is usually 7am to 3pm however for the right candidate there is flexibility on hours worked as the store trades from 10am to 10pm, 7 days a week. The right candidate will be well-presented as this is also a customer facing role.
Qualifications & experience
• Chef/Cook experience is desirable but not mandatory.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic.
Tasks & responsibilities
• Monitor staff performance, and report any skill gaps to store manager
• Ensure the highest level of cleanliness, organisation & tidiness throughout the kitchen.
• Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation.
• Co-ordinate with store manager to order supplies and product.
