About the role
In this role, you will work with key stakeholders to deliver a cross-organisational approach to implement Gender Equality and inclusion at the City. This role plays a key role in supporting gender diversity within the workforce and building the capacity and capability of the whole organisation to integrate gender (+) equality into the requirements of our Directorates, teams, and individual roles.
Work type: Permanent, full time
Classification: Band 7 ($100,064 - $110,990)
Key responsibilities include:
  • Implementing the 2021-2025 Gender Equality Action Plan and supporting policies as a subset of the City's Inclusion Roadmap.
  • Developing the next Gender Equality Action Plan as aligned to our Inclusion Roadmap strategic goals.
  • Supporting people leaders in Gender Impact Assessment in line with defined framework and process.
  • Developing and facilitating mechanisms and processes that ensure cross functional organisational coordination in analysis, planning and activities to achieve gender equity at a strategic and policy level.
  • Reporting to governance committees and the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector.
  • Participating in a range of external networks coordinated by the City and represent Council at a range of external forums.
  • Maintaining a current working knowledge of government initiatives and priorities, relevant research and theoretical paradigms that underpin best practice.
  • Partnering with the Centres of Excellence to build and implement Gender Equality action plans.
  • Equipping and enabling senior leaders with the tools to deliver on the Equality action plan & KPIs.
  • Measuring and monitoring corporate analytics and utilise them to optimise the gender agenda.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have highly developed understanding of social justice and inclusion principles with the ability to produce high level strategic plans and policies.
Essential Experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management, Social Science, Organisational Development, or related discipline with several years' experience in a similar role or lessor formal qualifications with extensive experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and capacity to develop and implement evidence-based workforce diversity and inclusion initiatives based on social trends related to Gender Equality.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in partnering with stakeholders to drive transformational change and achieve business objectives through the People agenda.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including a demonstrated capacity to lead, and work independently and collaboratively to build partnerships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage change in a complex and often challenging work environment.
  • Highly organised with the appropriate administration skills.
  • Ability to research and provide authoritative advice.
  • Experience with working as part of a team to achieve organisational goals.
