General / Plant Manager – Export packing plant

Skillinvest is currently seeking an experienced General/Plant Manager for a position with an international commodity trading business, operations will be based in Warracknabeal Victoria. The Plant Manager will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the plant, manage staff, oversea logistical aspects of Grains and pulses container packing for exports and closely coordinate with local railway freight terminals and transport companies.

Primary Duties

• Overall responsibility of running plant and leading team
• Scheduling work inward and onward
• Closely coordinating with container transport companies and farmers
• Marketing and securing additional work in regional areas with exporters and brokers as required
• Document and maintain all compliance records for grain export industry
• Support and develop team
• Back up team members ensuring operations are uninterrupted
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Authorised Officer - AQIS Certification to run the entire facility is preferred, or willing to get recertified
• Able to operate certified weighbridge operations
• Able to certify the Grades for Grain and pulses like lentil chickpeas and Wheat for export certification - Grain Testing
• Comply with OHS and required regulations equipment handling
• Fumigation licence to gas the container as per export country requirement and certification
• Preferred to have additional Container handler licence
