Expert Medical Opinion (EMO) & “Ask a GP” Services – General Practitioner Physician Case Manager (Contractor)
- Join a world leader in virtual healthcare
- Work from home during the hours that suit you
Teladoc Health (TDOC) is the global virtual care leader, serving more than 50 million members across 175 countries in over 40 languages. In New Zealand and Australia, Teladoc Health works with major insurers and employers, enabling them to offer their policyholders and employees a unique array of virtual health benefits. We are the world’s largest provider of virtual health services.
We are seeking an experienced registered General Practitioner to support our dynamic virtual health service for members located in Australia. Teladoc Health’s Expert Medical Opinion (EMO) service enables our members to access an in-depth virtual review of their medical condition, culminating in a comprehensive report from a global expert (specialist). This includes interpretation of medical records, diagnosis, and additional testing and/or treatment recommendations. Members may seek advice and guidance for serious medical conditions such as cancer, stroke, and heart problems, or non-critical conditions such as chronic skin conditions, allergies, and back pain. Each member’s journey begins with an online video consultation with a General Practitioner to discuss their condition and concerns. The General Practitioner then oversees the member’s case, determines what medical records must be obtained for review, and prepares a clinical summary to support the global expert with their assessment.
Teladoc Health’s “Ask a GP” service allows members to submit non-urgent, general medical enquiries online and receive a written response within 24 hours from a registered General Practitioner. Our General Practitioners provide members with general medical advice including recommendations surrounding home care and symptom management for illnesses, and answers to their medical questions. No diagnostic or treatment recommendations are available via this service, and urgent enquiries are redirected to pertinent emergency or local medical specialists.
General Practitioners also provide overflow support for Teladoc Health’s Mental Health service during peak utilisation periods. This service enables members to access a virtual assessment with a qualified mental health expert (i.e, Psychiatrist or Psychologist). The expert then provides report-based recommendations for the member, including treatment options. A General Practitioner conducts an online intake interview with the member to understand their current mental health concerns, and prepares a detailed summary to support the mental health expert with their assessment.
