About the role:
Working with the Medical Director and Director of Clinic Services, you will play a valuable part in the medical aspects of our patient care model.
Duties include:
- Medical assessment of all voluntary psychiatric patients
- Clinical reviews of patients as needed
- Writing of medication charts
- Identify acutely deteriorating patient and discuss with admitting VMO psychiatrist overseeing the admission or transfer of patient to an acute facility
- Review online pathology results and update VMO where necessary
Essential Criteria:
- Current unrestricted GP registration with AHPRA
- Current Working with Children Check and Police Check
- Outstanding customer service to all stakeholders
- Ability to be self-directed and prioritise to meet deadlines
- Working knowledge of drug and alcohol management
- Advanced airway management skills
- Immunisation evidence and serology report.
- Demonstrated clinical and procedural experience adequate to undertake the roles required of a GP in a private mental health facility.
- Strong collaborative interpersonal skills with well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify deviations in diagnostic results and to appropriately act / manage and notify VMO accordingly.
