Form of workO’Connor Harris & Co. is a local private law firm located in Canberra’s City Centre. We provide legal services to individuals and companies across a varied range of practice areas.
We are looking to recruit a full-time Generalist Lawyer working within our Litigation Team (Wills & Estates, Building Contracts, Commercial Matters, Family Law and Disputes). Someone who has the ability to run a matter from start to finish, with the support and guidance of the Directors. We are looking for someone that thrives under pressure, has strong problem-solving abilities and likes a challenge.
The role:
- Managing a wide variety of matters from opening to close
- Provide accurate legal advice to clients
- Work with the Directors to resolve complex matters
- Brief counsel and engage with third-parties when required
- Appear in the ACT Magistrates Court and ACT Supreme Court from time-to-time
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- At least one years’ experience working in a legal environment
- Experience in managing client expectations
- Ability to work autonomously while being able to work within a team
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- A current ACT Practising Certificate or the ability to hold an ACT Practising Certificate
Remuneration is negotiable, commensurate with experience.
