Full time, Ongoing vacancy in Palmerston, Northern Territory

  • Provide specialised advice and project management services relating to spatial data.
  • Support web mapping applications, relational databases and data analytics systems.
  • Natural Resource Maps, ArcGIS Server web services and Oracle Spatial Database.
The Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security's Geospatial Services Branch is responsible for the development of standards and practices for data management and geospatial expertise within our department. We offer an array of services tailored to meet the diverse needs and objectives of the department.As a Geospatial Systems Analyst, your primary objective is to provide specialist advice and project management services relating to spatial data management, analysis and spatial systems with emphasis on system design, infrastructure and software interoperability to the department in meeting business objectives and delivering natural resource programs.Your key duties include providing advice to management and key stakeholders on spatial data management, analysis and spatial systems, including the Natural Resource Maps (NR Maps) web mapping application, and developing Business Intelligence data visualisation dashboards. You will also support mobile data collection applications, workflows and Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processing.This role will make good use of your industry knowledge and tertiary qualifications in computer science, spatial science or natural resource science or equivalent, supported by your demonstrated experience in business analysis, design techniques, ETL workflow and Information Communication Technology (ICT).In return you will be rewarded with a competitive salary package inclusive of 11% superannuation, 6 weeks recreational and 3 weeks personal leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, 3 day shutdown at Christmas, negotiable flexible work arrangements, and an opportunity to work with a passionate group of scientists and professionals.If you reside outside of the NT, this is a great time to consider relocating.
