About the Role:
The role encompasses a comprehensive range of responsibilities including governance, compliance, financial oversight and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, implement and manage effective governance practices across our organisation and support our Head of Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee corporate governance practices and ensure effective compliance across the organisation.
- Provide support and guidance to managers and staff regarding corporate governance matters.
- Ensure all divisions across the organisation comply with their statutory obligations under any relevant laws and regulations.
- Arrange and coordinate board and committee meetings, including agenda preparation, minute taking and distribution.
- Maintain and oversee business and real estate licensing requirements.
- Manage and maintain business insurance policies.
- Assist with all office lease agreements and administration.
- Ensure completion, lodgement and compliance of statutory forms, returns and reporting under relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain statutory records and registers and ensure requisite retention.
- Review internally processed transactions, (i.e, sales invoicing, staff commissions, third-party referral payments, and bill payments).
- Review payroll processing and address any queries.
- Process end-of-month journals, reconcile balance sheets, and monitor cash flow.
- Support the Head of Finance as required (i.e; debtor follow up, quarterly BAS lodgement, monthly IAS returns, super contributions).
- Utilise various software programs including Xero, Paytron, Google Sheets, Insightly, and Syft, with Xero certification or a minimum of one year of experience required.
- Assist with signing contracts and administrative documentation.
- Ensure adherence to the company's constitution and perform other functions as required.
- Provide executive support by assisting the CEO and directors with governance obligations.
About You
We will be shortlisting candidates who can demonstrate;
- a tertiary qualification in public administration, commerce, law or business.
- their ability to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.
- a minimum of two years of experience in a governance / secretariat role in the public or private sector.
- expertise in interpreting legislation and regulations to provide advice and recommendations.
- strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal management, committees and external stakeholders
- ability to use technology to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
