With a program designed to expose you to every area of the engineering process, you will be able to choose an avenue that best suits you, as well as taking on more responsibility and being mentored by some of the industry’s best.
With a diverse set of expertise and relationships, Symal are nimble enough to give you the ability to work on some of the largest infrastructure jobs in the state, as well as the smaller to medium sized jobs that made us who we are today.
Our Program.
You will be given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on a variety of infrastructure jobs ranging from major road projects, level crossing removals and rail work, urban renewal developments, renewable energy investments and critical infrastructure upgrades. You will also gain valuable experience in the back end, getting to know the ins and outs of what goes into winning and preparing for some of the jobs we deliver.
Whilst working across various site and office teams, you will undertake a comprehensive development program aimed at giving you exposure to the end-to-end delivery process; Stakeholder management, project planning, engineering and design, surveying, procurement, contract management, estimating and precontracts, HSEQ, financial management, leadership, communication, and negotiation.

We require that you have the following prerequisites:
• Having completed a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the past 2 years, or due for completion by January 2025
• At least a 65-grade point average
• An Australian citizen or an Australian PR
